ANTZ

Z-4195, a worker ant, tries to break from his totalitarian hive society and get the attention of Princess Bala. He trades positions with his friend Weaver, a soldier ant, to see the princess during a parade. Unfortunately war breaks out during the parade, Z becomes a hero during the battles, and begins to spread the idea of individualism throughout the hive.

July 8th 1998: Although I have to admit I look more forward to Disney's "A Bug's Life," this animated film from DreamWorks also looks like great fun. The voice cast ain't bad either.

June 25th 1998: DreamWorks pushed "Antz" back from their original March 1998 release date to October 2nd 1998. "Since we've had the trailers in theaters, 'Antz' has created a lot of interest from exhibitors," Jim Tharp, DreamWorks distribution chief said. "After seeing a rough cut, October seems like the perfect date."
