Movie News & Rumours: August 4th 2000: Keanu Reeves recently talked to USA Today and confirmed that the "Matrix II" script is finished and that he's read it: "It's fantastic. It has even more ambitions than the first one. My character is more developed." Regarding the coming film's stunts, Reeves reveals, "There are a lot of physical demands in it. It's more sophisticated in the action sequences and fight sequences." The actor adds that once again, Andy and Larry Wachowski are likely to be pushing the visual envelope with the film as well as looking at the potential use of digital cameras for the shoot. Reeves says, "[They're] trying to achieve certain camera perspectives." The paper reports that Reeves will check in with the production in November for training purposes. Showbiz about the "Matrix" sequels: "We are going to do Matrix 2 and Matrix 3 simultaneously. We are essentially going to make one giant movie that will be cut in half to make two smaller movies," says Silver. "We should begin shooting in the spring of 2001 in Australia and we'll be bringing all of the main characters who survived the first one back for the sequels." Silver admits Joe Pantoliano has been putting word out on Matrix websites that his character did not really die in the first movie. Joel Silver was asked some questions about the 'Matrix' sequels: August 25th 1999: Keanu Reeves is close to a deal with Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures for two "Matrix" sequels, which will pay him a combined $30 million against 15% of the gross. The actor and writer-directors Larry and Andy Wachowski are set to begin a 250-day production schedule in fall 2000 that will encompass two back-to-back sequels. The Wachowskis recently completed a deal to continue the sci-fi series theyd always envisioned as a three-pic storyline. The Wachowskis originally figured to film a prequel followed by a sequel, but the plan now is to do two sequels instead. Laurence Fishburne and Carrie-Anne Moss will most like reprise their roles. "The Matrix" grossed a dazzling $4.8 million in North American theaters Wednesday, the biggest pre-Easter opening ever. The impressive opening bodes well for the film's weekend prospects as "Matrix" has been tracking strongly in prerelease polls.
