HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES

Rob Zombie Set to Write and Direct Follow Up to his Feature Film Debut

MARINA DEL REY, CA and VANCOUVER, BC, May 8, 2003 - Rob Zombie is set to
write and direct a sequel to his highly successful horror film HOUSE OF 1000
CORPSES, for Lions Gate Films, the motion picture production and distribution arm of
Lions Gate Entertainment (AMEX and TSX: LGF), it was announced today by Mike
Paseornek, Lions Gate President of Production. The original film has grossed over $11
million at the domestic box office in its first month of release and has proven to be an
extremely profitable acquisition for Lions Gate.

The Firm's Beau Flynn will produce the sequel, along with Zombie's long time manager
Andy Gould, also of The Firm. Production will be overseen by Mike Paseornek on
behalf of the studio. The deal was negotiated by Peter Block, Jason Constantine and
Tom Ortenberg on behalf of Lions Gate, and by Jeffrey Light on behalf of Zombie and
Gould. The film is aiming for a Fall start and an April 2004 release, to coincide with the
one year anniversary of the original.

"With 'HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES,' Rob Zombie has established himself as a
filmmaker with a passionate artistic vision as well as an eye towards the pop culture
zeitgeist, judging from the cult status the film is quickly achieving," said Paseornek.

Tom Ortenberg, President of Lions Gate Film Releasing added, "We felt Zombie had
captured something distinctive with this picture, and we are thrilled that audiences have
responded similarly. We are aiming to release the next chapter in the series next Spring
and, with its built-in audience base, it will be well positioned to outperform the original
and become a potential franchise for the company."

their successful track record with controversial films, and the success that they have had
with CORPSES definitely proves that fact," said Zombie. "Their unrivaled marketing
and distribution expertise has helped make my film debut a hit and I am dying to get
back behind the camera to deliver a sequel which will blow away the original."

HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES follows two young couples who take a misguided tour
onto the back roads of America in search of a local legend known as Dr. Satan. Lost
and stranded, they are set upon by a bizarre family of psychotics. Murder, cannibalism
and satanic rituals are just a few of the 1000+ horrors that await. Written and directed
by Zombie, making his feature film debut, the film stars cult favorites Sid Haig, Bill
Mosley and Karen Black, along with newcomers Sheri Moon and Chris Hardwick.

An influential multi-platinum musician and Grammy nominated artist, Zombie is also an
MTV video award winner for his self-directed "More Human Than Human" video. His
first feature film experience came when he was recruited by Mike Judge to animate the
classic hallucinatory sequence of the feature Beavis & Butt-Head Do America. He has
composed songs for dozens of feature films, including most recently Matrix Reloaded ,
DareDevil and Mission: Impossible II.

Lions Gate's powerful theatrical release slate this year includes:
