Training Day: Denzel Washington ("The Hurricane") is circling Warner Bros.' cop drama "Training Day." No deal has been made, but sources say the studio and actor are interested in working together on the project. Washington would play Alonzo, a grizzled LAPD veteran who shows a rookie narcotics cop the ropes on his first day on the soul-destroying inner-city beat. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Davis Guggenheim is attached to direct from a script by David Ayer.

The Blair Witch Project 2: Next week's planned start for the sequel to "The Blair Witch Project" has been delayed at least three weeks, Artisan said. A casting breakdown that circulated in early January said the secretive project would begin shooting Wednesday on the East Coast. "That date has always been contingent on casting," Artisan spokesman Paul Pflug said Thursday, and the casting is not complete. And, he added, "We're finishing location scouting." The casting breakdown listed five lead characters -- three women and two men ages 19 to early 20s. The slated fall release, which has an estimated production budget of $7 million-$10 million, is set to be directed by Joe Berlinger. Pflug would not discuss the status of the film's script, but a non-Artisan source close to the project said a screenwriter is working on production rewrites.

Traffic: Harrison Ford is set to star in Steven Soderbergh's "Traffic." Catherine Zeta-Jones is in final negotiations to also star in the film, while Don Cheadle and Benicio Del Toro are in talks to join what will be an ensemble cast. While the project is budgeted at about $30 million, the budget will likely go higher as the remainder of the deals are completed. Ford is taking a cut in his usual price to make the film. THR said he was asking for $10 million - half his usual fee. He will portray a judge who's recruited to become U.S. drug czar but has his hardline stance sorely tested when his own teenage daughter develops a serious addiction to crack cocaine and heroin. 'Traffic' is scheduled for an April 2 start date.

Martin Kunert ("Campfire Tales") has been tapped to direct the Unapix Films biopic thriller "Ed Gein," named after the serial murderer on whom the films have been loosely based. The project tells the true and bizarre exploits of the 1950s Wisconsin serial killer who is said to have inspired "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Kunert will write the project with his "Campfire" co-scribe Eric Manes. According to THR, a July 1 start date is slated.

The Glass House: Diane Lane will co-star with Leelee Sobieski in "Glass House" which starts shooting in the spring. The drama has come together quickly since Columbia Pictures bought Wesley Strick's ("Wolf") script as a spec last fall. Variety reports that TV director Daniel Sackheim will take the helm. Sobieski plays a teen taken in by a Malibu couple after her parents die in a car accident. She realizes soon after that her caretakers aren't who they seemed to be and may even be behind the financially motivated murder of her mother and father.
