Driven

Driven: A poster for the upcoming action/drama "Driven," directed by Renny Harlin ("Cliffhanger," "Deep Blue Sea"). The cast includes Sylvester Stallone (who also produced and wrote the film), Burt Reynolds, Gina Gershon, Kip Pardue, Robert Sean Leonard, Stacy Edwards, Estella Warren, Til Schweiger, Cristian de la Fuente, and Brent Briscoe. Lord of the Rings

The Lord of the Rings: A "b" version of the "Lord of the Rings" poster. The trilogy stars Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Ian Holm, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee, Billy Boyd, Liv Tyler, Cate Blanchett and Sean Bean. Peter Jackson ("The Frighteners") directs. Thanks to Dark Horizons.

Shrek: IGN FilmForce had a look at an 85% complete version of DreamWorks' animated film "Shrek" last night. Major spoilers. Thanks to Brian.

Shrek - Film Review (Positive)

24 Hours: Stuart Townsend ("Queen of the Damned") will star opposite Charlize Theron in the kidnapping thriller "24 Hours." Production begins March 19 in Vancouver. Luis Mandoki ("Message in a Bottle") will direct from a script by Greg Iles. According to Variety, "24 Hours" is about a doctor (Townsend) and his wife (Theron) who are forced to take matters into their own hands when their daughter (Dakota Fanning) is abducted by two experienced kidnappers (Kevin Bacon, Courtney Love) who have a seemingly foolproof plan.

Cold Creek Manner: In a pre-emptive strike, the Walt Disney Co. has paid mid-six figures to acquire Richard Jefferies' spec script "Cold Creek Manner." According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Creek" is about an urban couple who move to the country to open a bed and breakfast, where they are terrorized by the former owner of the property. Jefferies will do a rewrite on "Creek" and juggle that with the penning of the sequel to Disney's 1982 sci-fi cult classic "Tron." Jefferies is writing the sequel with the film's original writer-director, Steven Lisberger. The studio seeks to have the new draft of "Creek" by May 1.

Pearl Harbor: Two very nice International posters for the WWII action/drama "Pearl Harbor," directed by Michael Bay. It stars Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett, Kate Beckinsale, Cuba Gooding Jr., Tom Sizemore, Jon Voight and Alec Baldwin. Thanks to eBay.

Resident Evil: James Purefoy ("Mansfield Park") has landed a gig opposite Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez in Constantin Films/Impact Pictures thriller/actioner "Resident Evil." According to Variety, the film is lensing in Berlin under the direction of Paul Anderson ("Soldier").

Sea Devils: A look at Bill Raven's "Sea Devils" screenplay. This $3 mill independent film will be directed by Thomas Whelan ("Border to Border"). Francesco Quinn ("Platoon") has landed one of the lead roles. Minor spoilers. Thanks to Stax.

Sea Devils - Script Review (Positive)

Enough: Noah Wyle will star opposite Jennifer Lopez in Columbia Pictures' thriller "Enough" for director Michael Apted. The project, which began shooting this week, fits in to Wyle's hiatus schedule from "ER." Written by Nicholas Kazan, the story centers on a waitress (Lopez) who marries the man of her dreams (Billy Campbell) but learns that he is abusive. After a failed attempt to leave him, she takes her daughter and goes on the run. Ultimately, she is forced to take matters into her own hands to save her life and that of her child. Wyle plays a mysterious pivotal character who appears throughout the story and ends up carrying certain information that determines the fate of Lopez and Campbell. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Juliette Lewis also stars in the project as Lopez's best friend and confidant.

Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider: Courtesy of Dark Horizons, a teaser poster for the action/adventure "Tomb Raider," directed by Simon West ("The General's Daughter"). Thanks also to 'T-bird =/\=.'

Minority Report: Kathryn Morris ("The Contender'") had landed a role as Tom Cruise's lawyer in the Steven Spielberg-directed "Minority Report" for Fox and DreamWorks. She joins Cruise, Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton in the futuristic drama, which begins shooting shortly. Variety reports that it is the second straight Spielberg pic for Morris, who just wrapped "A.I.," opposite Jude Law, Haley Joel Osment and Frances O'Connor.

Avalon: Miramax Films has snapped up rights to Mamoru Oshii's live-action cyber-suspense film "Avalon." The minimajor acquired North American rights to the Polish- and Japanese-language film that centers on a beautiful woman who is unrivaled as the champion of a computer fantasy game. When the woman's former lover becomes lost in the game, she makes the dangerous decision to follow him to a secret level from which no player has ever returned. According to The Hollywood Reporter, no release date has been set. Oshii previously helmed the 1995 animated feature "Ghost in the Shell."

The Banger Sisters: Erika Christensen ("Traffic") is in final negotiations to star in a lead role in Fox Searchlight's dramedy "The Banger Sisters" for writer-director Bob Dolman. Production will begin March 26 in Los Angeles. "Banger" stars Susan Sarandon and Goldie Hawn as former rock 'n' roll groupies in the 1970s who reconnect in the present day only to find out that one (Hawn) has remained unchanged in her wild ways, while the other (Sarandon) has taken a more conservative path. According to THR, Christensen will play Sarandon's daughter, a seemingly perfect girl who, under constant pressure to meet her mother's high standards, begins experimenting with drugs and sex.

Cats & Dogs

Cats & Dogs: Poster for the comedy "Cats & Dogs," starring Jeff Goldblum, Elizabeth Perkins, Alexander Pollock, and featuring the voices of Alec Baldwin, Michael Clarke Duncan, Sean Hayes, Jon Lovitz, Tobey Maguire, Joe Pantoliano and Susan Sarandon. Thanks to eBay.

Baby's in Black: Dustin Hoffman is in final negotiations to star in the Walt Disney Co. drama "Baby's in Black" for Brad Silberling, who will direct from his own script. According to The Hollywood Reporter, shooting is scheduled to start in mid-April. Hoffman will play the father of a young man (Jake Gyllenhaal) grieving over the death of his fiancee, who was killed in a restaurant where she was waiting tables. The man, who lives with his father (Hoffman) and mother (Susan Sarandon), begins to fall for a woman who works in a bar owned by her missing boyfriend.

Alexander and Napoleon: A review of Peter Buchman's "Alexander" script, as well as Stanley Kubrick's "Napoleon" screenplay. Some spoilers. Thanks to Chris.

Alexander/Napoleon - Script Review (Positive)

The Three Stooges: Peter and Bobby Farrelly have committed to write and produce a big-screen version of "The Three Stooges" for Warner Bros. No director is on board, but the brothers have not ruled out taking the reigns. The Farrellys are expected to start writing the project when they complete production on 20th Century Fox's "Shallow Hal," which they are prepping to direct and produce from their own script. No release date has yet been set for "Stooges," but Warners is targeting the project as a tentpole for summer 2003. According to THR, the feature version of "Stooges" will not be a biopic, nor will it be a remake the original classic comedy film shorts and feature films that started in the 1930s. Rather, the Farrellys' version will by set in modern day and feature the Stooges on a fresh adventure, much like what Columbia Pictures did with "Charlie's Angels."
