Once Upon a Time in Mexico: Willem Dafoe ("Shadow of the Vampire") has inked to star opposite Antonio Banderas in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico: Desperado 2," which is expected to begin shooting imminently. Robert Rodriguez directs. According to Variety, it will be distributed domestically by Columbia Pictures and internationally by Dimension Films.

We Were Soldiers - Script Review (Slightly Positive) American Princess: Director Andy Fleming ("The Craft," "Dick") will take the helm of the period romance "American Princess," which is expected to begin shooting in the fall. According to Variety, the New Line project follows an English peasant girl whose dreams of becoming a princess are dashed when she is sent to America as an indentured servant after being caught dressing up in the queen's clothing. While there, she inadvertently gets involved in the resistance against the crown, following and falling in love with the leader of the resistance.
