Joan Of Arc: Above is an advance poster for Luc Besson's $55 mill drama starring Milla Jovovich and John Malkovich. The poster is courtesy of Mister W with thanks to Countdown. Bruno: Joey Lauren Adams, Brett Butler, Jennifer Tilly and Gwen Verdon will join previously announced cast members Kathy Bates, Shirley MacLaine and Gary Sinise in the comedy-drama "Bruno." Bruno is the story of a 9-year-old genius from Long Island (Alex D. Linz from "Home Alone 3"), who becomes a spelling bee champion on the Catholic School Circuit. Daddy And Them: Billy Bob Thornton will soon direct "Daddy And Them," a comedy about a dysfunctional white trash family. Thornton wrote the screenplay and will star with Laura Dern, Kelly Preston, Ben Affleck, Diane Ladd, Andy Griffith, Brenda Blethyn, Michael Jeter, Jim Varney, musician John Prine, Tuesday Knight and Saundra Seacat. Man On The Moon: Norm Macdonald ("The People vs. Larry Flynt") has joined the cast of "Man On The Moon," a biopic about the late comedian Andy Kaufman starring Jim Carrey. The film wil be written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. The Mystery Men: Hank Azaria ("Godzilla") is in final talks to play the Blue Raja in upcoming "The Mystery Men" for Universal Pictures. Paul Reubens (Pee-wee Herman) and Claire Forlani also are in discussions for the picture about a band of misfit superheroes forced into a final confrontation with archrival Casanova Frankenstein, played by Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush ("Shine"). The film is being directed by Kinka Usher. Superstar: Will Ferrell ("Saturday Night Live") and Elaine Hendrix will join Molly Shannon in the cast of Saturday Night Studios' "Superstar." Ferrell is cast as Sky, the male lead opposite Shannon's Mary Katherine Gallagher, a nerdy Catholic Girl. Hendrix plays Evian, one of three beautiful but bitchy girls who make life hard for Shannon's character. Camouflage: Leslie Nielsen is in negotiations to star in "Camouflage," a $20 million indie black comedy written by Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Epperson. "Camouflage" is the story of a burned-out private eye who finds himself reluctantly receiving a new lease on life thanks to a pestering would-be protege. Wild, Wild West: Elmer Bernstein ("Airplane!") is set to score Barry Sonnenfeld's upcoming film, "The Wild, Wild West."
The 13th Warrior: Above is a great shot of Antonio Banderas ("The Mask of Zorro") onboard one of the Viking ships in the upcoming movie, "The 13th Warrior." Takedown: Master P ("I Got the Hook Up") is joining Skeet Ulrich, Russell Wong and Forest Whitaker in the cast of "Takedown," based on the real-life story of computer hacker Kevin Mitnick. Joe Chappelle is directing "Takedown."Also joining "Takedown" are Donal Logue, Angela Featherstone ("The Wedding Singer") and Christopher McDonald ("The Faculty"). Bond 19: Michael Apted ("Thunderheart") is in negotiations to take the helm of MGM's next James Bond film. Pierce Brosnan will be taking on the role of agent 007 for the third time, and the picture is slated to begin production in January. The storyline may involve a woman adversary who has a personal grudge against the suave secret agent. Muppets In Space: Newcomer Tim Hill is taking over as director of "Muppets In Space." He will replace Randal Kleiser, who was attached to the Muppets project but left over creative differences. The film is about Gonzo's search for his identity and his venture into outer space as part of that quest. The Last Marshal: Constance Marie ("Selena") has landed the lead female role opposite Scott Glenn in the upcoming action movie "The Last Marshal." Marie will play a deputy marshal who tangles with Glenn's character in his one-man crusade to bring down an illegal drug syndicate that has its hooks into the U.S. court system. Official Assassins: Paul Verhoeven will develop and direct Official Assassins. It's a thriller set in post-World War II Berlin involving Russian and American intelligence agencies. Its based loosely on retired British staff Capt. Peter Masons nonfiction account of the same title about his intelligence activities for the British government. Chris Bertolini is scripting. The Taj Mahal: Seems like Hollywood is anxiously seeking to make a feature movie about the story of a seventh wonder of the world: The Taj Mahal. Using CGI technology they plan to show how the gigantic wonder was made. The story behind the Taj is a romantic story about a medieval Indian emperor building a mausoleum for his beloved late wife. So most likely the movie's story will be based on this. No casting has been done, nor has a director been chosen, but both Oscar winning directors Richard Attenborough ("Gandhi") and Bernardo Bertolucci ("The Last Emperor") are very interested in this project. The movie is planned for a year 2000 release and is expected to cost not less than $80 million, due to the expensive recreation of the Taj Mahal. Thanks to 'Lavesh' for this info. Jurassic Park 3: Dark Horizons got a scoop reporting that Dean Semler ("Firestorm," "The Patriot") will soon sign on to direct the third movie in the successful series. Could this be true? Mission: Impossible II: Dougray Scott ("Ever After: A Cinderella Story") is in talks to play a more sinister role in the sequel to "Mission: Impossible." Scott has been tapped to play a villain in the John Woo-directed follow-up to the successful 1996 movie. My Favorite Martian: The official site for this upcoming comedy based on the classical television series "My Favorite Martian" has now opened up. The movie will star Christopher Lloyd and Jeff Daniels. Below is a link to the teaser trailer.
She's All That: Paul Walker has joined Freddie Prinze Jr., Rachel Leigh Cook and Anna Paquin in Miramax Films' teen romantic comedy "She's All That." Walker plays a high school student who bets his best friend (Prinze) that the popular stud can't turn a geeky introvert (Cook) into a prom queen. R. Lee Fleming Jr. wrote the script and Robert Iscove is directing. The Official Site recently opened up. It features a brief synopsis of the plot, and some clips from the movie's sets. Check it out! The Thomas Crown Affair: Denis Leary ("Small Soldiers") has joined Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo in United Artists' remake of "The Thomas Crown Affair," set to directed by John McTiernan. Brosnan will play a millionaire playboy who, seeking new challenges, steals an invaluable painting by Cezanne, then strikes up a romance with a female investigator (Russo) who is on his trail. Leary will star as a New York cop who also is pursuing the mogul thief and falls in love with the investigator.

Stuart Little: Michael J. Fox ("Frighteners) has joined the cast of the upcoming fantasy film "Stuart Little" as the voice of the title character, a mouse. The movie also stars Geena Davis, Jonathan Lipnicki ("Jerry Maguire") and Hugh Laurie ("Sense and Sensibility") in a story about a family who adopts a mouse. Abbie!: Jeanne Tripplehorn ("Basic Instinct") has joined the cast of "Abbie!," an indie biopic of '60s radical Abbie Hoffman. Robert Greenwald is producing and directing the film, from a screenplay adapted by Bob Ward and Bruce Graham. Prince of Central Park: Kathleen Turner ("Jewel of the Nile") has been set for the lead role in Seagal/Nasso's "Prince of Central Park." She will play a woman who befriends a runaway foster child; together, they conquer their personal demons and rid New York's Central Park of a drug-dealing gang. Designated Survivor: This film will star George Clooney ("Out of Sight") and will be produced and directed by David Scarpa. No other casting news as of yet. Thanks to Craig for the info! House Of The Dead: This is the latest video game being turned into a movie. This movie will be based on the Sega game, and will be writtin by Mark Verheiden (Timecop). More info on this project is currently unknown. Once again, thanks to Craig. Mystery Men: William H. Macy ("Fargo") is in final negotiations to brandish his mighty shovel as one of the not-so-superheroes in the upcoming film "Mystery Men." Kinka Usher directors the picture about a group of seemingly normal guys who possess peculiar talents. Macy's character, the Shoveler, is one of the struggling, self-proclaimed superheroes, who wields an old shovel which he uses to deflect blows as well as land them. Hellboy: Guillermo del Toro ("Mimic") has signed on to direct the $40 million-plus adaptation of the Dark Horse comic "Hellboy." It is the story of a supernatural detective summoned from the underworld by the Nazis during World War II. He later turns on his mentors to prevent them from blowing up the world.
