Gloria

Gloria: A poster for the upcoming Sharon Stone starrer "Gloria," about a troubled woman who is thrown together with a young boy and must fight for their lives.

Janney Projects: Allison Janney has signed two back-to-back co-starring roles in Propaganda Films' "Nurse Betty" and in DreamWorks' "American Beauty." Janney will co-star opposite Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening in "American Beauty." In "Nurse Betty," which stars Renee Zellweger and Morgan Freeman, Janney will portray an affected Hollywood producer.

Minority Report: Mr. Showbiz' Jeffrey Wells reports that that Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise will team in August to shoot Minority Report, a Blade Runner-ish sci-fier for 20th Century Fox. He picked up a draft last week of Jon Cohen's script (dated August 15th 1997) which is based on Phillip K. Dick's short story: "I was amazed when I read it. It is seriously lame. I'm sure Spielberg will be asking for all kinds of punch-ups before it goes before the cameras. I know how scripts can be transformed (or at least made serviceable) by first-rate writers.. Thunderball Remake: BBC is reporting that Sean Connery may be back with James Bond. But that's "with," not "as." At 68, even the virile Connery isn't going to try to put it across as the agile, womanizing spy. But he might be just dandy as Bond's arch enemy. Sony Pictures thinks so. The studio, which is in a cold legal war with MGM over the rights to remake Thunderball, is apparently talking to Connery (Bond in the 1965 original) about playing 007's nemesis, Ernst Blofeld. The BBC, without naming sources, also said that Irish actor Liam Neeson is being considered to play Bond in the new Thunderball, which would rival Irish actor Pierce Brosnan's next Bond film for MGM, The World Is Not Enough. Beowulf

Editor's Note/Beowulf: Even though there probably won't be a regular update until next week (due to lack of fresh news), I'll still try to add various scoops that drop in. Such as this new poster for the upcoming Christopher Lambert flick "Beowulf" with thanks to 'Michael.' Also, a few things will be changed, removed or added at "The Movie Page" in 1999. One section will go (Search) and a new one will be added instead (FAQ). I'm also thinking about adding a message board for movie-page.com visitors only which you can help decide in the new poll at the right.

Previous Poll Results:

Bill Pullman has finally finished the filming of his new movie here in Finland. He have been filming it over a month already and now it's over. Pullman flied back to L.A. on Saturday with his family. The movie is about a CIA-agent who now lives in Helsinki by using his fake identity and owns a jazz-club. I don't really know the plot very well, but it's a violent American thriller. Irene Jacob : Natasha, Harrys girlfriend and a new spy.
