From The Ashes - Here's a cool scoop from an Anonymous source: A new movie called From the Ashes is possibly in the making at Universal Studios, and it is a post-apocolyptic drama. The exciting thing about this film is it is apparently the antithesis of a big-budget special effects extravaganza. Its a character-driven story with a lot of philosophical and socialogical themes, somewhat like Gattaca. Its still in the early stages of development, but itll be interesting to see where this project goes.

From The Ashes: here are some new rumours about this low-budget, post-apocolyptic drama that is in the making at Universal Studios. More people working at Universal Studios have now heard about it, but they don't know how far along Universal is with this project. From what someone heard, they are still talking about what actors will be in it. It seems they'll be going with character actors more than stars. Also, filming won't be taking place in L.A., though they are not sure exactly where they're going to shoot it. - Thanks to "Grape Ape."

As Short as It Gets - If you have questions about the plot of the new Jack Nicholson-Helen Hunt movie, some of the answers may be on the cutting room floor. Director James L. Brooks says his first cut of "As Good as It Gets" was very long and lots of the back-story on Greg Kinnear's character had to be dropped. Originally, Skeet Ulrich was to have been the boyfriend of the Kinnear character but his role was reduced to a cameo. "It was a different story of how Greg met Skeet but it took 30 minutes to tell that story," Brooks says.
Seinfeld, the anchor of NBC's "Must-See" Thursday-night lineup, will not return for a tenth season. Jerry Seinfeld told the New York Times Thursday that he made the decision to cease production because he wanted the sitcom to go out on a high note. "I wanted to end the show on the same kind of peak we've been doing it on for years,'' Seinfeld said. "I wanted the end to be from a point of strength. I wanted the end to be graceful.'' NBC said in a statement that it understood Seinfeld's decision to move on. "To keep a show of this caliber at its peak has been a great undertaking," the statement read. "We respect Jerry's decision that at the end of this season it's time to move on."
