Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - Variety reports that Arnon Milchan's New Regency is near deals for David Mamet to adapt "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" as a vehicle for Al Pacino, with Harold Becker directing. The film will be produced by Art Linson. Mamet will adapt the Robert Louis Stevenson novel, and Becker's William Morris agent John Burnham is finalizing his deal to shape the vehicle for Pacino. It's touted that the pic will stick much closer to the novel than the numerous movies that have been adapted from it. Let's hope it will be better than ''Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde'' :-)

The Mask of Zorro

The Mask Of Zorro - A cool poster-ish image, I have no idea if it's real or not, but it's cool, so who cares? Thanks to the always-impressive Jawad for the image, who also has some cool Jurassic Park 3 news today on his website, check it out!

Academy Awards - The nominees for the Best Picture Academy Award are "Titanic,'' "As Good As It Gets,'' "The Full Monty,'' "L-A Confidential'' and "Good Will Hunting.'' The contenders for the best actor award are Matt Damon for ''Good Will Hunting,'' Robert Duvall for "The Apostle,'' Peter Fonda for "Ulee's Gold,'' Dustin Hoffman for ``Wag the Dog'' and Jack Nicholson for "As Good as it Gets.'' The best actress nominees are Helen Hunt for "As Good As It Gets,'' Kate Winslet for "Titanic,'' Julie Christie for "Afterglow,'' Helena Bonham Carter for "The Wings of the Dove'' and Judi Dench for "Mrs. Brown.'' For more info, check out www.oscar.com.

Golden Raspberry Awards - On the eve of the Oscar nominations for the best in movies, "Batman and Robin'' was the runaway favorite yesterday for the title Worst in Hollywood. The film, which stars George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell, picked up 11 Golden Raspberry award nominations. The second biggest nominee for the tongue-in-cheek awards was Sandra Bullock's "Speed 2: Cruise Control,'' which is up for eight Razzies. Last year's worst actress, Demi Moore, has a chance to make it two in a row for her performance in "G.I. Jane.'' But she has stiff competition from Bullock, Fran Drescher for "The Beautician and the Beast,'' Lauren Holly for "A Smile Like Yours'' and ''Turbulence'' and Alicia Silverstone for "Excess Baggage.'' - More Info.

Star Wars Prequel 1 - A Star Wars fan has created his own Prequel teasers and trailers, they might be cool to check out. They can be downloaded here - and the filenames are 'teaser.zip', 'trailer.zip' and 'trailer3.zip'. I hear they are very good, but since I haven't seen them myself, I can't really comment on them. You just have to see for yourself!

Highlander 4 - Rumours indicate Christopher Lambert will make an appereance in the movie. His role will be similiar to Sean Connery's role in the original.

Bruce Campbell - Everyone knows Bruce Campbell is interested in his internet fans, and since I love his work, I thought I'd send him an E-Mail where I also asked him if he perhaps would care to take a look at my website, he did!, and here's his groovy feedback:

"Hey, this web site doesn't suck as much as I thought it would!"

Thanks Bruce! I'll take that as a compliment :-) Anyway, he will make a small cameo-appereance in the "From Dusk Till Dawn" sequel, and that's a very good reason to check out the upcoming vampire movie!

Test Screening Review - here's a cool test screening review of the third MTV-flick "Dead Man On Campus." There are some small spoilers in it, so don't say I didn't warn you!

"Dead Man On Campus" - Test Screening Review

The Wedding Singer - and here is an early review of the upcoming comedy "The Wedding Singer", starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Again there are a few tiny spoilers. A huge thanks to 'Jeffery Sanders' for both reviews!

The Mask Of Zorro - Another cool image from the upcoming Antonio Banderas-Anthony Hopkins movie, "The Mask of Zorro" can be viewed right here. - Thanks to Jawad for the alert!

World On A Wire - Playing roles ranging from the psychotic soldier in Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket'' to the grotesque villain in "Men In Black'' has made Vincent D'Onofrio a busy actor who hardly gets recognized on the street. But he'll risk losing that anonymity with a flurry of new projects. Variety says he'll star in "World on a Wire'' playing a character who is actually two different people. He's also joining James Spader in the big-budget sci-fi film "Supernova'' starring as a man who falls in love with a computer. He says he has always relished his off-kilter roles because in most scripts, "the supporting characters are all more interesting than the leads.''

Eaters Of The Dead - It seems like the rumours of the Arnold Schwarzenegger cameo in EOTD were in fact false. He hasn't been spotted in any of the test sceenings of the early cut. But there's no way to be sure until we've seen the movie for ourselves :-)

Box Office - "Titanic" won the top spot at U.S. movie theaters for the eighth straight week, bringing in $23.2 million and becoming the fourth highest grossing movie of all-time with a total $337.5 million. "Titanic'' has passed 1994's "Forrest Gump'' on the list of top performing films, according to box office tracker Exhibitor Relations Co. Inc. The highest grossing film ever in the United States is "Star Wars," with a lifetime total of about $461 million. Moving into the number two spot on the weekend box office chart was "The Replacement Killers,'' followed by "Good Will Hunting'' at third, "Blues Brothers 2000'' at fourth, and "Great Expectations'' at fifth.

X-Files: The Movie - Some scenes from this upcoming movie are available on this Site.

I Know What You Did Last Summer 2 - Danny Cannon ("Judge Dredd") has been set to direct the sequel to the sleeper horror hit "I Know What You Did Last Summer," which is being scripted by Trey Callaway. The film rejoins Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. with the hook-handed fisherman who tormented them in the original. The film is expected to be released at Thanksgiving. The original grossed $75 million in the United States and is poised to crack $100 million worldwide.

Three To Tango - Neve Campbell, star of the two "Scream" films and TV's "Party of Five," is in talks to star in the Warner Bros. romantic comedy "Three to Tango," sources said Friday. If she signs on to the project, Campbell would fit the job into her hiatus from "Party of Five. No other major cast members are attached to "Tango," nor has a director been signed.

U-571 - Michael Douglas, looking to dive into his first full-fledged action role, is expected to star in the Jonathan Mostow-directed war thriller "U-571." Douglas will work closely with Mostow on developing the script for "U-571." The movie is a World War II action thriller about the search to recover a secret decoding device aboard a German sub. Douglas, should he commit, would play the leader of the U.S. contingent trying to steal the decoder known as the Enigma.

20.000+ Hits! - I know this is nothing compared to most of the other movies sites around the net, but I still had to let you know about it. So thanks for visiting, send in cool scoops, and let me know how I can improve the site!
