Apt Pupil Apt Pupil Antz

Movie Posters: Three movie posters today. Two versions of the "Apt Pupil" poster, and the third advance for "Antz."

Guy Gets Kid: Director Dennis Dugan ("Happy Gilmore") has signed to work with Adam Sandler on their second comedy feature, "Guy Gets Kid," about a thirtysomething slacker who adopts a 6-year-old boy to impress his girlfriend.

Pure Evel: Betty Thomas ("Dr. Dolittle") is negotiating to direct Matthew McConaughey ("Contact") in "Pure Evel," the Universal biopic of daredevil motorcyclist Evel Knievel.

The 13th Warrior: Digital effects house Cinesite has landed the visual f/x contracts for Buena Vista's "The 13th Warrior." The CG creation of a Viking ship careening down 300-foot waves was the most challenging shot for Jerry Pooler, Cinesite's visual effects supervisor on the film. Also mentioned was the Thanksgiving release date. If this is true, there won't be much time to promote this film. Thanks to 'Debel' for the info!

Leatherheads: George Clooney and director Steven Soderbergh ("Out of Sight") will reunite on the 1920s football romantic comedy "Leatherheads." The screenplay, set in the early days of professional football during the 1920s, follows an aging footballer (Clooney) who convinces a young college star to dump his school and play in the pros.

Forces of Nature: Ronny Cox ("Total Recall") has inked to join Sandra Bullock, Ben Affleck, Maura Tierney and Blythe Danner in the DreamWorks romantic comedy “Forces of Nature.” Cox will play the father to Tierney’s character and the husband to Danner’s character in the Bronwen Hughes-directed pic, which is currently shooting on location in South Carolina.

The Muse: Jeff Bridges will join Albert Brooks, Sharon Stone and Andie MacDowell in the upcoming comedy "The Muse," which Brooks co-wrote and will direct. Brooks plays a down-on-his-luck Hollywood screenwriter who finds a muse (Stone) who has sparked other big writers and directors. She turns his life upside down. Bridges will play his best friend and a rival writer, and Brooks has landed directors Martin Scorsese, James Cameron and Rob Reiner to play cameos.

Editors Note: Sorry about the delayed update. The phonelines have been down for the past 24 hours, so I couldn't get online. More news should emerge tomorrow.
