The Blair Witch Project

The Blair Witch Project: The second poster for 'The Blair Witch Project' is now available. The film opens (limited) July 16th.

102 Dalmatians: Director Kevin Lima ("Tarzan") is attached to direct Walt Disney Pictures' "102 Dalmatians." Glenn Close is still committed to starring in the sequel to the 1996 hit "101 Dalmatians." The "102 Dalmatians" script called for all new characters, so none of the original actors will be reprising their roles, sources said. No other talent is yet attached to the project. Disney is hoping for a late fall start date. The writing team of Kristen Buckley and Brian Regan ("Carmen San Diego") penned the first draft of the script. This all-live-action sequel concerns Cruella DeVille's newly devised scheme to obtain her precious puppy coat, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Lord of the Rings: THR recently reported that Elijah Wood ("The Faculty") landed the lead role of Frodo Baggins in New Line Cinema's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings." The first episode in the three-part franchise, "Part One: The Fellowship of the Rings," is being directed by Peter Jackson and goes into production in October. Principal photography is expected to last more than a year. "Rings'' is set in a mythical era and concerns the adventures of the young Frodo Baggins, who must save humanity when he inherits a seemingly innocent magic ring from his cousin Bilbo. Also, Cinescape Online confirms the rumor that Sean Astin will play Samwise Gamgee.

Doc Savage

Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze: Arnold Schwarzenegger has been tapped to star in "Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze" in development at Castle Rock Entertainment from director-producer Chuck Russell and writer-director Frank Darabont. The project reteams Schwarzenegger with Russell, who directed and produced "Eraser." In "Doc," Schwarzenegger will portray the title character, Dr. Clark Savage Jr., a millionaire philanthropist who was raised from the cradle to be the world's ultimate adventurer. The project is based on a character created by pulp author Lester Dent in 1933 with his Doc Savage Magazine, printed in book form by Bantam from 1964-90, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Squelch: EW Online reports that Leelee Sobieski ("Joan of Arc") has signed up for her first slasher flick. She'll star in "Squelch," the tale of a trio of young road-trippers who are terrorized by a trucker they meet over a CB. John Dahl ("The Last Seduction") will be directing this film.

Movie Trailers: A new teaser trailer has been released at the official Stuart Little site. Also the most recent commercial for 'Mystery Men.' Thanks to 'Cris.'

Scream 3: Ultimate TV confirms that Scott Foley ("Felicity") has joined the cast of "Scream 3." Foley will make his feature film debut as a hip music video director in the third installment of the popular horror series. The film also stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Matt Keeslar ("Mr. Magoo").

Radio Loco: Mimi Leder ("Deep Impact") has signed on to direct "Radio Loco" for Paramount-based Mutual Film Co., sources confirmed. Mutual's Mark Gordon and Gary Levinsohn ("Saving Private Ryan") are producing the comedy that has been described as being in the vein of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." The script concerns a man performing community service in an insane asylum. The man tries to improve the patients' mental state through a radio show. Todd Graff ("The Beautician and the Beast") penned the most recent draft of the screenplay.

Bless the Child: Rufus Sewell ("Dark City") will star opposite Kim Basinger and Jimmy Smits in "Bless the Child" for Paramount. Director Chuck Russell's supernatural thriller is set at the beginning of the new millennium when the forces of good and evil are preparing to battle. Christina Ricci also has a brief role in the film, which began shooting this week in Toronto. Don Roos ("Opposite of Sex") wrote the script from a novel by Cathy Cash Spellman. Mace Neufeld will produce, according to THR.

Reviews: 'STANLEY' saw three new films recently, read his non-spoiler opinions below:

I saw this 3 films with the french press. About the 13th warrior: I saw it with 2 friends and they are ok with me: definitly not a good film!!! Everything is disapointing in it: the actors, the image, the sound, the story, and even John mc tiernan did a bad work! We feel that the movie is too shot and we never come into it. It needs 30 minutes more for be just good, but we really don't care of some scenes.
* About the blair witch project: it won't be long: the scariest film since "shining"!
* About the ninth gate: it is the new roman polansky thriller starring Johnny depp and franck langella. I saw it there is 3 days and everyday I love it more! This is a great film, good actors, good light, good mystery? good story...

Space Cowboys: Variety recently reported that Clint Eastwood is rounding up final cast members for "Space Cowboys,'' an action-adventure film slated to begin shooting later this month. The recently signed flight crew consists of James Garner, James Cromwell, Donald Sutherland, William Devane and Marcia Gaye Harden. The five will join Eastwood and Tommy Lee Jones. Eastwood is directing the Warner Bros. project from a script by Ken Kaufman and Howard Klausner. Eastwood, Jones and Garner will play former distinguished Air Force pilots who, decades past their prime, are recruited by NASA to fly a crucial space shuttle mission. The space agency reluctantly calls them into action after a satellite launched in the '60s malfunctions and is headed back to Earth. Full Story >>>
