Austin Powers II: The Official Site recently had a small update, but it's still worth checking out. This upcoming film is set to be released January 1st 1999. The Beach: Leonardo DiCaprio will make "The Beach" his next project. He will play a rootless traveler who is given a map to paradise, which was scrawled by a madman. The project is based on the novel by Alex Garland. Danny Boyle ("Trainspotting") will direct, while Andrew MacDonald and John Hodge will produce. Filming will begin in January. Being John Malkovich: Cameron Diaz ("The Mask") has joined the cast of the dark comedy "Being John Malkovich." The film stars Malkovich, John Cusack and Catherine Keener in the story of a puppeteer (Cusack) who finds a porthole that leads to Malkovich's brain. Diaz will play Cusack's wife. Lost Souls: Winona Ryder ("Alien: Resurrection") will probably star in the psychological thriller "Lost Souls," the directing debut of Oscar-winning cameraman Janusz Kaminski. Ryder will play Maya, a former troublemaker who has reformed and now works as a teacher at a seminary. Armed with the knowledge of Satanic rites, she is charged with convincing a high-powered attorney that he is the target of a conspiracy to enable the devil to walk the Earth in human form - and must help him defeat the powers of evil before his 33rd birthday. Mystery Men: Geoffrey Rush ("Shine") is set to play the villainous mastermind in the offbeat superhero flick "Mystery Men." Rush will take on the role of Cassanova Frankenstein, a criminal master of evil whose weapon of destruction is a gold chain. Convicted of murder and institutionalized in a mental hospital, Frankenstein dupes the asylum into thinking he's cured so he can be set free to gather his cronies and wreak havoc. A Bug's Life: Above is a copy of the advance poster. The image doesn't expand, unfortunately, but once I receive a better copy of the poster, I'll add it either here or in the poster archive. Challenger: 20th Century Fox is currently developing Challenger, a project to be written by Graham Yost ("Speed.") The film will take a look at the behind-the-scenes events surrounding the 1986 Challenger space shuttle disaster. The Muse: Mark Feuerstein (Practical Magic) has inked to co-star in Albert Brooks The Muse for October Films. The film also stars Sharon Stone and Andie MacDowell in the story of a screenwriter who finds a real-life muse living in Los Angeles. Feuerstein plays a young studio VP. Star Trek: Insurrection: The Ultimate Star Trek info Page have gotten their hands on some script segments from this upcoming sci-fi film. Click on the link below if you want to read it: Star Trek: Insurrection: Pages 62-67 Dudley Do-Right: Alfred Molina ("Maverick") is set to play the villainous Snidely Whiplash in "Dudley Do-Right," based on the Jay Ward cartoon. The Universal film, starring Brendan Fraser as the dimwitted Mountie, will be directed by Hugh Wilson from his own script. The film will probably get a summer '99 release. Halloween: H20: The full trailer has been released, and below is a link to the .mov version hosted on the excellent Loews Site. There's also a Zipped AVI version of the trailer at the Official Site.
Stuck On You: Peter and Bobby Farrelly ("Dumb & Dumber," "There's Something About Mary") will soon direct "Stuck On You." The film, based on an original script the brothers wrote, concerns a set of Siamese twins, one of whom wants to become a Hollywood actor.

Untitled Film: Oliver Stone plans to make an epic love story based on his own idea. The untitled project is in the vein of "The Year of Living Dangerously," and is set against the backdrop of U.N. relief efforts in war-torn Africa and Eastern Europe. The 13th Warrior: The Internet Movie Database reports that this upcoming Viking flick starring Antonio Banderas and Dennis Storhøi has been pushed forward to a January '99 release date. Can anyone confirm this? Mortal Kombat 3: Craig sent in a very interesting scoop today, apparently the third MK film is now in production: (MK2 Spoilers) The film will once
again be produced by Lawrence Kasanoff with Alison
Savitch as the executive producer. It is not known if any
of the original cast will be returning for this third MK
film. I can tell you that Robin Shou's (Liu Kang)
original contract was a three picture deal and I don't
see why the studio would put him in a different film.
Below is an early outline of the plot and some rumors
that have gone around. Please take note that this film is
very early in production and anything could change: The General's Daughter: Madeleine Stowe ("12 Monkeys") looks set to star with John Travolta in "The General's Daughter," Paramount's adaptation of the Nelson DeMille bestseller. Stowe will play an investigator who works alongside Travolta in unravelling the kinky death of a prominent woman. The Good Shepherd: John Frankenheimer will soon direct "The Good Shepherd." The MGM project chronicles the history of the CIA, traced through the experiences and 40-year career of an agent who was plucked out of Yale into the counter-espionage movement at the onset of WWII. Eric Roth ("Forrest Gump") writes the script. Speedway Junky: Rapper Warren G will make his big-screen debut in "Speedway Junky," written and directed by Nikolas Perry. Tiffani-Amber Thiessen ("Beverly Hills, 90210") has also signed on for a supporting role. Warren G will play hip but threatening club owner Brentley Shaw. Thiessen will portray Wilma, a southern belle newlywed deserted by her husband on their wedding night who takes comfort in the race car-obsessed Johnny (Jesse Bradford). Alone: Commercial director Anthony Hoffman is set to make his feature debut on the sci-fi thriller "Alone" for Village Roadshow and Warner Bros. The film is about an astronaut stranded on Mars during the first manned expedition to the Red Planet.
Lake Placid: Phoenix Pictures, Canal Plus, 20th Century Fox and Pioneer will co-finance the $30 million film "Lake Placid" under Steve Miner's direction. The project, starring Bill Pullman ("ID4") and Bridget Fonda ("Jackie Brown"), had been put into turnaround last year. Saving Grace: Mimi Leder ("Deep Impact") is in talks with Universal to helm "Saving Grace." A romantic comedy that explores how a womanizing record producer's life is turned upside down when he discovers that he not only has a daughter as old as his girlfriend, but that he's a grandfather as well. Return To Paradise: A trailer for the upcoming drama "Return To Paradise" is now available. The movie stars Vince Vaughn, Joaquin Phoenix and Anne Heche. Thanks to Loews Trailer Park.
The Shipping News: John Travolta ("Face/Off") and his wife, Kelly Preston, are attached to co-star in an upcoming romance-drama "The Shipping News."It's the story of a widowed New Yorker, played by Tavolta, who relocates to a small Newfoundland coastal village with his two daughters and aunt. Movie Article: Once again Jeffery Sanders returns from a short absence with a new, exciting article. This is the third part in the summer movie articles, be sure to check it out! Late Summer: Armageddon to Avengers She's All That: Anna Paquin ("The Piano") has joined the cast of the upcoming romantic comedy film "She's All That." The Miramax Films picture stars Freddie Prinze Jr. ("I Know..") as a popular high school kid, Zack, who attempts to turn a geeky introvert played by Rachel Leigh Cook into a prom queen. Jumanji 2: Jonathan Hensleigh ("The Rock" and "Armageddon") recently signed to write "Jumanji 2" for Columbia Pictures. Hensleigh also co-wrote the 1995 original. End Of Days: Marc Nispel has recently signed to make his feature debut directing A Arnold Schwarzenegger in the upcoming supernatural thriller "End Of Days." The film, which is expected to cost around $100 million, will begin shooting in late October, with pre-production beginning this month. Writer Andrew Marlowe ("Air Force One") describes the film as "Silence of the Lambs" meets "Alien." The film is about Satan making a visit to New York City. The Prince of Darkness wants to destroy the world, and a former cop, played by Schwarzenegger, is the only person who can stop him.. Scream 3: I'm getting confused by all the rumors floating around the net, but it does seem a little strange that Neve Campbell has signed on for part three, since I've heard twice that she's out, both times due to her not wanting to be "typecast." But I guess we'll just have to wait for an official statement about this.. Movie Trailers: A better quality trailer for the upcoming action-thriller "Enemy Of The State" starring Will Smith. U-571: Michael Douglas ("The Game") has decided to give up his role in Jonathan Mostow's upcoming submarine action film "U-571." His departure from the movie was occasioned by "scheduling differences after the film was pushed back too far for my comfort," Douglas reported to Variety. Highlander: The Search For Connor: Gregory Widen, who co-wrote the original "Highlander," has signed to co-write and direct the fourth installment of the "Highlander" films. Adrian Paul and Christopher Lambert are both attached to star.
