The Thomas Crown Affair: Rene Russo ("Lethal Weapon 3 and 4") has joined "The Thomas Crown Affair," starring opposite Pierce Brosnan in a re-make of the 1968 heist drama that starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. John McTiernan ("Die Hard") will be directing. Dracula: Joss Whedon's new Mutant Enemy, Inc. production company and Fox Animation Studios are currently developing an animated musical feature film based on the legend of "Dracula," the studio confirmed on Thursday. Being John Malkovich: John Cusack ("Con Air") has joined John Malkovich in the cast of the dark comedy "Being John Malkovich" for Propaganda Films in association with Michael Stipe and Sandy Stern's Single Cell Pictures. When puppeteer Craig finds a door in his office that allows one to enter the mind of and literally become Malkovich for 15 minutes, he exploits the door to find love, fame and power. Cusack plays Craig, and Malkovich will play himself and Craig when the puppeteer takes the form of the actor. Analyze This: Leo Rossi ("Maniac Cop II") has joined the cast of the psychotherapy-themed mobster comedy "Analyze This," opposite Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal. Rossi will play the role of Mangano, the cousin of De Niro's character. Harold Ramis ("Ghostbusters") is directing the Warner Bros. pic about a stressed-out mob capo (De Niro) who starts seeing a psychiatrist (Crystal). Spooky House: Christopher Lloyd ("Back To The Future: 1-3") has signed to star in the indie feature "Spooky House", a family Halloween action movie. In the film, Lloyd plays a slick showbiz magician who accidentally touches on the secret of real magic and encounters a group of elementary school kids who sneak into his mysterious house. Shooting is planned to start October 1998. The Art Of War: Jet Li ("Lethal Weapon 4") has made a seven-figure deal to star in "The Art Of War," a Universal/Alliance effort that will be a co-production between Dan Halsted and Oliver Stone's Illusion Entertainment and Dick Wolf Films. Against All Enemies: Above are two nice images from this upcoming action/thriller previously titled "Martial Law." The movie stars Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington. A big thanks to Glenn's Movie Montage for the pics! The General's Daughter: Rene Russo, who teamed with John Travolta to buck the Hollywood system in Barry Sonnenfeld's 1995 hit "Get Shorty," is in talks to star opposite Travolta once again in Paramount's military thriller "The General's Daughter." The two would play Army intelligence investigators assigned to look into the rape-murder of a base commander's daughter. Takedown: Skeet Ulrich ("Scream", "The Newton Boys") has agreed to star in "Takedown," the story of real-life computer hacker Kevin Mitnick. Based on the best-selling book of the same name, "Takedown" recounts how Mitnick was tracked down by high-tech genius Tsutomu Shimomura, who will be played by Russell Wong ("The Joy Luck Club"). Joe Chappelle ("Phantoms") will direct the project. On Any Given Sunday: Tom Arnold will join the ensemble cast of "On Any Given Sunday" for director Oliver Stone. The film, a gridiron drama set up at Warner Bros., stars Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Lauren Holly and Edward Burns. The film will begin production this fall. The Lionhearts: MGM Animation has signed William H. Macy ("Fargo"), Peri Gilpin, Jeffrey Tambor and Betty White, among others, to provide voices for its upcoming animated skein "The Lionhearts." Macy will roar for Leo, the MGM lion who stars in the tongue-in-cheek comedy about the hard-working studio icon and his chaotic family life. Gilpin ("Frasier") will vocalize for Lana, Leo's unconventional wife.
Saving Private Ryan: Above is a poster for this Steven Spielberg directed WW2 film starring Tom Hanks and Matt Damon. It looks a lot like the advance poster from last year, but it's supposedly the Official poster. Sorry about the size of the image. Fence Jumpers: Actor David Caruso ("Jade") and indie filmmaker Michael Correntewill team to bring Robert Leuci's 1996 novel "Fence Jumpers" to the bigscreen. Corrente, who is putting the final touches on his coming-of-age picture "Outside Providence," will direct and produce "Jumpers." He'll also co-write the script with Leuci. The Negotiator: Below is a copy of the trailer for this upcoming action/thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey.
Love Stinks: Tyra Banks
is set to star in indie film "Love Stinks," Last Leg: Producer George Zaloom ("Encino Man") is attached to make his directorial debut on "Last Leg," based on "Tonight Show" writer Dave Hanson's unpublished novel of the same name. Hanson, who is penning the script, describes the book as a "whodunnit about breast augmentation, corporate downsizing, toxic dumping, toxic relatives, a beautiful detective and how they affect a one-legged man living in New Jersey."
Posters: A poster for the upcoming Christina Ricci comedy "The Opposite Of Sex" and an advance poster for "Small Soldiers" which may be a little old, but it's here all the same. Thanks to Glenn for the first poster! The Muse: Sharon Stone is negotiating to play the title character in "The Muse," the comedy Albert Brooks co-wrote and will direct and star in for October Films, sources said. Brooks will play a Hollywood screenwriter down on his luck who finds a real muse living in Los Angeles. Star Wars: Episode Two: The Official Site recently asked George Lucas about Boba Fett's involvement in the prequels, and Lucas said: "Boba Fett doesn't show up in Episode I, but he has a prominent role in Episode II." Random Hearts: Kristin Scott Thomas ("The Horse Whisperer") is set to appear opposite Harrison Ford in director Sydney Pollack's "Random Hearts." The film, being produced under the Columbia Pictures banner, is based on Warren Adler's novel about an internal-affairs cop (Ford) and a congresswoman running for re-election (Scott Thomas) who connect after their spouses perish in a plane crash. Movie Trailers: First off, a new trailer for the Antonio Banderas/Anthony Hopkins starrer "The Mask Of Zorro", a trailer/teaser for "Halloween: H20", a new trailer for "Blade" and a new "Armageddon" trailer.
Macbeth In Manhattan: Gloria Reuben ("ER") will star in the indie film "Macbeth in Manhattan," which begins shooting June 8 in New York. John Glover, Harold Perrineau Jr. ("The Edge"), David Lansbury and Nick Gregory are also in the cast. Beau Bridges' son, Jordan, will make his feature film debut.
Movie Posters: First off a possible "Lethal Weapon 4" poster. Can anyone confirm it to be real? Second a hilarious advert for the upcoming film "Star Wars: Episode One." Thanks to "Michael" for the first poster, and the second poster is courtesy of the Official Star Wars Site. Armageddon: Glenn reports that Armageddon is still filming some scenes. He doesn't know how important they are, but cameras were rolling yesterday (27th) and today at 11500 Foothill Boulevard (in Los Angeles), between the hours of 07:00 and 22:00. The level of security on the shoot and whetever there will be any principal actors there is unknown. Thanks to Glenn for this info! Movie Trailers: A few trailers have recently become available for downloading, such as a trailer for the upcoming film "Virus", a teaser for "Babe: (2) Pig In The City", a trailer for the upcoming Jennifer Love Hewett flick "Can't Hardly Wait" and finally a trailer for the Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker film "Rush Hour." Riff Raff: When Laurence Fishburne ("Event Horizon") decides to become more than just an actor in a film, he does it in dramatic fashion. In becoming the latest star to achieve hyphenate status, Fishburne is set to not only star in, but also write, direct and produce "Riff Raff," based on his critically acclaimed play. The film will be financed by the Shooting Gallery for release in 1999. The Virtuoso: Mercedes Ruehl ("The Fisher King") has joined the cast of independent production "The Virtuoso." The project is about a once-successful American stage performer who gets caught in the tragedy and chaos of pre-World War II Europe. Ruehl plays Nina, an ambitious Estonian nightclub singer who dreams of performing in Paris and on Broadway. The movie, now shooting in Tallinn, Estonia, and St. Petersburg, Russia, also stars Keith Carradine, Mia Kirshner, Judd Hirsch, Brian Dennehy and Bronson Pinchot. Analyze This: Lisa Kudrow ("Friends") is set to join Billy Crystal and Robert De Niro in the feature comedy "Analyze This." The Warner Bros. project is about a gangster, played by De Niro, who starts seeing a psychiatrist, portrayed by Crystal. Kudrow will play Crystal's love interest. "Analyze This" is shooting in New York, with Harold Ramis directing. Note From Webmasters: Well, the new design is slowly starting to spread across The Movie Page.
