The Truman Show BASEketball Can't Hardly Wait

Images - Finally a copy of the Official "The Truman Show" poster! A small poster-ish image from the upcoming comedy "BASEketball" and a picture from Jennifer Love Hewitt's latest comedy, "Can't Hardly Wait." Thanks to Glenn for some of the images!

An Ideal Husband - Miramax Films has acquired the rights in North America, Spain and Italy to Icon Entertainment's feature version of Oscar Wilde's play "An Ideal Husband." Oliver Parker adapted the play and will direct an ensemble cast, including Cate Blanchett, Gabriel Byrne, Minnie Driver, Rupert Everett and Julianne Moore, beginning next month in London.

Muse - October Films has closed a deal for Albert Brooks to direct and star in "Muse," in which Brooks will turn his sights on the filmmaking process. Coming on the heels of Anjelica Huston's deal to star in and direct "The Mammy," the Brooks pact is indicative of October's efforts to step up the caliber of directors being brought into the fold.

Movie Trailers - Two new trailers today! One for the upcoming movie "What Dreams May Come" starring Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Annabella Sciorra. Also a trailer for the upcoming movie "Pleasantville."

Total Recall 2 - A few days back, Variety reported that Dimension Films, the 6-year-old Miramax genre division, has inked scribes Ron Shusett and Gary Goldman to write "Total Recall 2," its most expensive picture ever, possibly with Arnold Schwarzenegger to star. Pic will be based on the scribes' original story, developed with Dimension.

Passion in Mind - Demi Moore ("G.I. Jane") appears to be the front-runner for one of Hollywood's most sought-after female roles: the lead in Lakeshore and Paramount's drama "Passion in Mind." Actresses including Nicole Kidman, Meg Ryan and Winona Ryder also had expressed interest in the picture, which is based on a decade-old script by Ron Bass ("My Best Friend's Wedding.")

The X-Files Movie

X-Files: The Movie - Above is a copy of the Official poster, click on it for a (much) bigger version. The poster is courtesy of the excellent web site The Moviegarden.

Inspector Gadget - Matthew Broderick ("Godzilla") and Rupert Everett ("My Best Friend's Wedding") will star in "Inspector Gadget" for Walt Disney Pictures. Broderick will play the title character and Everett his arch nemesis. "Gadget" will be directed by David Kellogg, a commercials director whose credits include the Jerry Seinfeld/Superman ads for American Express.

The 13th Warrior - Rumours indicate that Graeme Revell ("The Saint") is being replaced by Jerry Goldsmith ("Air Force One") to handle the musical score for this big budget Viking movie. A big thanks to 'Debel' for this information.

Nice image, huh? Star Wars: Episode One - The Official Star Wars site has recently added several new images of the main characters in the film. Click right here to visit the site and see the images for yourselves. I wish this movie would be released sooner :-)

The Mod Squad - Michael Lerner ("Godzilla") has joined the cast of "The Mod Squad." He will play a corrupt music agent pursued by the undercover cops. Claire Danes, Josh Brolin, Giovanni Ribisi and Omar Eppsalso also star in this MGM feature.

Three to Tango - Kelly Rowan ("187") has signed to join Matthew Perry, Neve Campbell and Dylan McDermott in the romantic comedy "Three to Tango." Kelly Rowan will play the wife of McDermott's character.

Godzilla - A whole bunch of digitised Godzilla commercials recently became available on the internet. I'm not going to link to all the indidual files, but if you check out Barry's Temple of Godzilla you will find most of the clips!

Mr. Accident - Goldwyn Films, the specialty unit of MGM formed late last year to finance and distribute independent features, has inked its first production deal, picking up the tab for Oz comedy "Mr. Accident," to be written, produced, directed and toplined by Yahoo Serious, who came to American screens a decade ago as "Young Einstein."

Out Of Sight The Mask Of Zorro

Movie Posters - A slightly poor quality version of the "Out Of Sight" poster, but I guess it's better than nothing. Next to it is a much bigger and sharper version of the latest "Mask Of Zorro" poster. Thanks to Dave's Movie Asylum and 'Kevin' for the images!

Movie Trailers - Quite a few new trailers today. The Official "Ronin" trailer is out, the movie stars Robert De Niro and Jean Reno. Another commercial for Godzilla, the official trailer for "Wrongfully Accused", a TV clip for "Small Soldiers", a teaser trailer for "Lolita", a trailer for the star-filled movie "54", one for the film "American History X" and finally a trailer for the upcoming Matt Damon flick "Rounders."

This Means War - 20th Century Fox has made a pre-emptive buy of Marcus Gautesen's "This Means War," a comedy of escalating conflict between two buddies. The movie will star Martin Lawrence. The story centers on the fierce power of hormones. Two best friends, inseparable since grade school, fall in love with the same woman, causing the friendship first to crack, then to utterly disintegrate in a battle that eventually lays waste to much of Manhattan.

Analyze This - Molly Shannon ("Saturday Night Live") has joined the cast of Warner Bros.' mobster comedy "Analyze This," according to sources, joining stars Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal. Harold Ramis is directing the pic about a mob boss who undergoes psychiatric therapy. Screenplay is by Peter Tolan, Phoef Sutton and Ken Lonergan. Paula Weinstein and Jane Rosenthal have producing credits.

Talos The Mummy Talos The Mummy - A nice image from the upcoming movie "Talos The Mummy", a new horror movie from director Russel Mulcahy ("Highlander.") The movie will star Jason Scott Lee, Louise Lombard and Christopher "Dracula" Lee. Thanks to Glenn for the image!

Hush The Gingerbread Man

Movie Posters - Two nice posters today, one for the upcoming Jessica Lange - Gwyneth Paltrow movie "Hush" and one for the upcoming film "The Gingerbread Man." Thanks to Glenn for the images!

The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas - The title for this upcoming film has now been confirmed to be "The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas." Drew Carrey is supposedly the number one choice to play a younger Fred (the movie is a prequel) and it has not yet been announced on whether Spielberg will return to produce. The movie is being eyed in time for a summer 1999 release. Thanks to The Upcoming Movie List for this info!

Godzilla - Quite a few things today, first off, this page includes images of the Godzilla toys, and they pretty much match all the believable images that have been circling the net in the past. Also, below are links to two new Godzilla teasers (on the net, anyway.)

Bicentennial Man - Robin Williams and director Christopher Columbus are in talks to reunite on "Bicentennial Man," a Nick Kazan-scripted adaptation of an Isaac Asimov short story for Hollywood Pictures. A fall start is anticipated for the sci-fi project which is being shepherded by Walt Disney Pictures/Hollywood Pictures president David Vogel.

Entropy - Judith Godreche ("The Man in the Iron Mask") has been set as the female lead in "Entropy" opposite Stephen Dorff. The film, scripted and directed by Phil Joanou, stars Dorff as a first-time director who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to make a feature around the Irish rock band U2.
