One Man's Hero: A "One Mans Hero" poster courtesy of the official site. The film tells the true story of John Riley (Tom Berenger) and his fellow Catholic Irishmen who, faced with the prospect of warring against a peaceful Catholic nation, turned away from their adopted country and fought against its unjust actions in Mexico. The World Is Not Enough: The new trailer hit U.S. theatres this weekend, and the official site has already added a copy of it. Click below to download. Thanks to 'Alex Brinckerhoff.'
The Legend of Bagger Vance: Bruce McGill ("A Dog of Flanders") joins Will Smith, Matt Damon and Charlize Theron in Robert Redfords The Legend of Bagger Vance. McGill will take on the role of a devastated war hero who returns home and attempts to revive his championship golf game. Gangs of New York: A script review of Martin Scorsese's pet project "The Gangs of New York," written by himself and Jay Cocks. Thanks to Stax. Gangs of New York - Script Review (Positive) Kingdom Come: Charlize Theron ("The Astronaut's Wife") is in talks to star in "Kingdom Come" for director Michael Winterbottom. Actor Peter Mullan ("My Name Is Joe") is already onboard. Andrew Eaton will produce. "Kingdom Come," written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, is a western set in the Rockies inspired by Thomas Hardy's novel "The Mayor of Casterbridge," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Mexican: Director David Fincher ("Se7en") is in talks to reteam with Brad Pitt on the indie project "The Mexican." Pic will be financed by Newmarket Capital Group for under $10 million, and will be produced by Lawrence Bender ("Pulp Fiction") & John Baldecchi ("Deep Rising"). The action-comedy centers on a mobster who travels south of the border to hunt down an ancient pistol with a curse on it. J.H. Wyman penned the script, according to Variety.
King Swanny/Get Carter: Michael Caine will portray an English gangster of 'classic proportions' in "King Swanny," an indie drama loosely based on William Shakespeare's "King Lear." John Irvin (NBC miniseries "Noah's Ark") will direct. Caine is also expected to take a part in the upcoming "Get Carter" remake, which stars Sylvester Stallone in the title role, according to THR. Scream 3: The "S" Man was recently allowed onto the 'Scream 3' set for forty minutes (to interview cast/crew members about the film for an issue of the magazine he works for). He sent along a little bit of his Neve Campbell interview, as well as some extra spoiler info I've added at the very end. A huge thanks to "S" Man! [Sept 11th Note: This interview (which I've learned might be false) can still be found here.] In the Cut: Variety reports that Nicole Kidman ("Eyes Wide Shut") and director Jane Campion ("Holy Smoke") will re-team on the erotic thriller "In the Cut." She would play a New York University professor who, after a young woman is murdered in her New York neighborhood, launches into a dangerous affair with a detective. The adaptation of Susanna Moore's 1995 novel is being targeted for a fall 2000 start date. Kidman will make her feature producing debut - Campion will produce as well as direct from her own adaptation.
The Story of Us: A poster for this comedy/drama starring Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfieffer as a married couple who go through hard times in fifteen years of marriage. Thanks to 'Kevin.' Artificial Intelligence: The Sunday Times and Variety reports that Steven Spielberg might take over direction of Stanley Kubrick's last unfinished film project. He and Spielberg had been close friends. "We were on the phone for 18 years," Spielberg said. Now Warner Brothers and Kubrick's family look set to approve handing the project over to Spielberg. 'AI' is the tale of a young "robot" boy. Kubrick's brother-in-law Jan Harlan said Spielberg was the ideal director: "He would bring out both the human and philosophical side of the story."
