Dead Man On Campus

A film review by Jeffery Sanders
Copyright © 1998 Jeffery Sanders

I'm gonna make this short since the film don't deserve a long review. I unfortunately attended a screening of this turkey and yeeeeechhhhhh.... Does it reek! It's a moronic comedy (so-called) about two failing college students who decide to abuse an old school rule that say's: if a student dies his roommates shall receive all A's. Yeah right! Anyways, so the guys try to find a roommate they can kill. A semi-cool premise that could have been good if it had been given a dark approach, but this one is not funny at all nor dark or suspenseful.

The movie stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar (formerly Zack of Saved By The Bell) as the token hunk and his roommate is too bland an actor to remember his name. Note To Mark Paul: LOSE WEIGHT. His character doesn't work as a hunk because he's just too fat. He's not obese but he's a little Tubby and too many scenes are shirtless. His belly flab is blubbering everywhere and so is the movie. Dull and Pointless, it is a big disappointment because it is MTV films 3rd film and after great movies like Beavis and Butthead Do America and the Underrated film Joe's Apartment, I'd expect quality. Don't waste money at Dead Man On Campus.

Editor's Note:

Please note that this review is made from an early 1997 cut of "Dead Man On Campus," the film may have changed since then.
