Soldier: The Return

Brief
review of the Tri-Star release:
UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: THE RETURN was screened as the
weekend's sneak preview in Malaysia and I got the chance
to watch it. Well, as you all may already have guessed,
this movie isn't exactly everybody's choice for Friday
night's cinema-trip. But I would like to say that the
movie goes straight up after the Tri-Star logo made an
appearance. A good opening scene, the jetskis-chasing
sequence. Then it slows down for a short while and BOOM,
it bursts into action. You can expect a non-stop ride,
keep going and going until the last battle between SETH
(Jai White) and Luc (Van Damme). Not to forget the final
explosion, just superbly WOW! A few laughs, THE
MATRIX-style martial arts etc. Anyway, what makes this
movie unworthy is that you'll be 'haunted' by the first
one, which in my opinion was WAY BETTER. But I'm not
qualified to command you to stay away from the cinema.
Lastly, I give UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: THE RETURN **1/2 out of
